Success is not a destination, but the road that you’re on.

Step 5

Congratulations on making it this far – well done! This is really only the beginning of your health journey.

If you have managed to make changes, then I am sure you are starting to notice the benefits. It can take time to make lasting change, so make sure you take it step-by-step. If you stumble on your way, that’s okay, look at it as a learning. Stop and evaluate how it made you feel, and lock that in for the future.

Step 5 – planning your next steps

Forever moving forward

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. It’s different to any other day because today you’re armed with a new awareness of what it means to live a vitalistic life.

During this program you’ve taken all of the essential steps to reset your body and reset your health, giving you the foundations for a new future. And as long as you stay committed to this new regime you will notice over time how much the food you eat affects every aspect of your life. From your emotional states to your thoughts to your relationships, eating quality food filled with nutrients and minerals gives you the energy you need to live a better life.

But if you want permanent change, you need to go one step further. You need to commit. Decide, right now that you can only go forward, and that you refuse to ever ‘start again’. Just imagine where you’ll be in a year or six months or even in three months if you continue to embrace the changes you’ve put in place.

So how do you do this? Well, to make sure your old habits don’t come back, and to keep your new healthy habits, it’s important to work on yourself on a daily basis. And the most effective way to do this is by educating yourself, bit by bit, and step by step.

And as you learn new information, you must IMPLEMENT it! Change happens only when knowledge is acted upon. It’s a wonderful truth that people who change their food and health habits often want to keep going and improve their own lives further. Sometimes they even get inspired to help others to improve their lives as well.

This journey is ongoing. No matter how long you work at learning, changing and improving, it will never end. You will constantly learn new things that move you towards a happier and healthier life. And this is the way it should be. Dedicate yourself to finding the best information and products possible that will improve your mental, physical and emotional health. And then you will become an example of positive self-care for everyone around you.

Try to create some time in your schedule every day for education. Some time for you to research things that inspire you, find new products and programs that appeal to you, and then implement them in your life.

And don’t tell yourself that you don’t have the time. Everyone is busy these days between kids and family and work and all the small parts that make up your life. But there’s a secret to doing this, to fitting in everything and enjoying it at the same time.

Firstly, cut down on the amount of information you consume. This means turning off the television, the radio and not buying newspapers regularly. Most of the news these days is negative and depressing, bookended by pushy advertisements and advice on how to live your life better that just doesn’t stand up under scrutiny. You can do without all of that, in fact it’s probably better for your emotional and mental health if you avoid it. And it will give you some extra time as well.  Choose what information you do engage with. There are lots of podcasts and YouTube clips out there that will inspire you, educate you, and positively impact your life. It’s better to spend your time with this kind of content.

This doesn’t mean you have to live like a monk and shut yourself off from the world. Give yourself room to relax and indulge in your favourite TV series or go to see that movie you’ve been looking forward to. This isn’t about deprivation, it’s about becoming selective. It’s about consciously choosing what you watch and take in, not just passively turning on the television and watching whatever. That way you have enough time to take in what does actually interest you without becoming overburdened by information overload.

Over the coming weeks, take some time to learn some new information. Start feeding your mind with things that inspire you, and give yourself the time and space to become better and stronger than you ever thought possible.

Celebrate the new vision of you

Congratulations, you’re finally here!

This is the last step in resetting your mind, body and environment so that you’re ready for a new future, and a new you! And the most important thing to know is that even though you’ve now finished the program, today is the first day of REAL CHANGE.

Throughout this program you’ve replaced habits that were harmful with habits that are helpful and will help you live a life that’s a true expression of all your dreams. Becoming the person you want to be, living a life filled with new experiences and adventure and truly being free comes naturally from this foundation of self-care and optimum health.

You’re now more educated and ready to create a foundation that supports you. And you’ll need that support as you work towards your bigger dreams. With commitment and motivation, you’ll soon be making changes that are long-term, lasting and in alignment with what you really want from your life.

But before that, make sure you reflect on the work you’ve already done, acknowledge all the work you’ve put in and celebrate what you’ve accomplished. For many people, achieving goals becomes a continuous cycle of 'needing to do more.’ That means they never stop to celebrate their success and in turn are never satisfied, always looking for more.

Celebrating your achievements and progress - big or small - signals to your subconscious and your inner critic that you’re thankful for the progress you’re making toward your dreams. Most importantly, it allows you to tap into the joy of improvement and expansion.

WHAT IS A MEANINGFUL CELEBRATION TO YOU?

You can celebrate in any way that’s meaningful to you. This might be something big, like taking yourself on your dream vacation, or it might be as simple as a night at home alone with a bubble bath, some scented candles and your favourite book.

If you get discouraged easily, it’s that much more important for you to take the time to celebrate any progress you’ve made. You can include your loved ones as well for some extra benefits. This will allow you to bask in the energy of people who feel happy for you and want to celebrate your win. So take your best friend to a spa, go to a movie with your partner. Whatever you need to do to make the day special, with a special person - do it. And your success may inspire them as well.

CELEBRATE WHAT DESERVES RECOGNITION

If you’re feeling some resistance to the idea of celebrating your life, remember that it’s a necessary step for success. Celebrating (or recognising) your progress will allow your subconscious to really register the good things you’ve done. This will help to balance and override the impulse to dwell on the default setting of ‘what I failed to do’. This default setting can lead people to self-sabotage their efforts, as they forget that one mistake or one step backwards doesn’t need to derail their life. Don’t let this happen to you!

When you neglect to acknowledge and celebrate what deserves recognition, you run the risk of taking things for granted and inadvertently trapping yourself in a mindset of lack and struggle. But by celebrating where you are and what you’ve already done, you open yourself up for more, and can then really enjoy the journey you’re on.

AFTER THE CELEBRATION... THE LIVING OF LIFE AND A NEW VISION OF YOU

Once you’ve taken the time to reflect and think about how far you’ve come, it’s time to think about what comes next... LIFE!

You’ve already gone through the first stages, created new habits and set up a strong foundation, and now that you’re feeling lighter, more energised, happier, and alert, it’s time to create a vision for the person you want to be tomorrow.

Every single person on this planet has their own unique blueprint for optimal health, and with the right ingredients, nutrients and routines, their body will naturally align itself with this blueprint. So all you need to do is feed your body the right foods and then get out of the way.

That’s why the programs at Changing Habits are focused on creating 'Vitalism' by guiding people back to a natural state of being. For some this includes releasing excess weight and for others it is more about reducing their bad habits and their sickness symptoms. Whatever you need to do to achieve the life you want, there’s a program or some advice that can help.

But whether you choose to continue with Changing Habits, or go it alone, there’s a next step that everyone should take. It’s the path towards your ultimate vision, and it’ll help you understand what you need to do to get there. This step is fairly simple, but not easy. You need to spend some time listening to what your body is saying, what it wants and needs, and to write down this ‘New Life Vision’. And then make the commitment to continue supporting your body and its needs as it heals and moves towards this new life.

Just make sure that before you do that, you take the time to reflect and celebrate. Because today marks the last day of ever starting again and the first day of the rest of your life.

Thanks for reading, and good luck on your journey.
